Kurozwęki is a small town on the banks of the Black River valley. According to a local tradition it was founded by a Czech knight, St. Adalbert’s bother.
The village belonged to prominent Polish families: Poraitów, Lanckorońskich, Sołtyków and Popielów.
In the second half of the 14th century, the palace was built on an artificial embankment on the floodplain of Czarna River. The palace is again in the hands of the Popiel family.
A unique attraction in Kurozwęki is the only American bison breeding farm in Poland. The herd, which currently numbers over 80 individuals, can be observed in the meadows surrounding the palace complex during a walk, from a carriage or from inside a "bison safari" wagon. In addition to the bison, visitors can also admire the local Mini Zoo.
